DUBAI — Dubai International Airport has been voted by frequent travellers among the top three favourite airports in the world.
Dubai ranked third in the world after Singapore’s Changi Airport and Hong Kong’s Chek Lap Kok, according to a survey among more than 9,000 members of Priority Pass, the world’s leading independent airport lounge programme.
The surveyed are frequent flyers from 150 countries.
Dubai International Airport is clearly ahead of the airports in Europe and the Americas. For the 300 respondents from the Middle East, Dubai is the most preferred airport in the world, with Abu Dhabi International also appearing in the top three. Jonathan French, Head of Brand at Priority Pass, said those who voted were frequent travellers, with an average of 17 flight journeys a year. “They come from all corners of the world, so this result comes from an informed source,” he said.
The survey shows that travellers from the Middle East benefit from having high-quality airports close at hand.
“When asked to assess their overall airport experience, those from the Middle East expressed greater satisfaction than the worldwide average. It’s clear that airports in the Middle East are gaining greater prestige among travellers throughout the world due to the excellent facilities and management,” French added.
