Dubai Duty Free recorded sales of US$1.4 billion in the first ten months of 2013, an increase of +11.14% year-on-year.
Fragrances remained the leading category in the period with US$229 million in sales, +15% ahead of the same period last year. This was followed by liquor (US$213 million, +13%) and gold (US$138 million, +7%).
In fourth place was tobacco (including cigarettes and cigars) with US$120 million in sales (+12% year-on-year) and confectionery with US$116 million (+12%).
As reported, the company was buoyed by the addition of 2,500sq m of space at the new Al Maktoum International Airport in late October. Click here for the first images of its new operation. More info
