Dubai’s international airport has been recognised as the leading air transport hub in the Middle East.

DWCThe Airports Council International (ACI), founded in 1991, has named the world’s leading airports in its latest Airport Service Quality awards.

For the sixth year running, the top winner was Incheon airport in Seoul, South Korea, while other airports in the Asia-Pacific region also performed well in the awards, with Singapore Changi, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai Pudong all finishing in the top five.

ACI director-general Angela Gittens said: “We applaud the consistent success story of the Asia-Pacific airports, which set the bar in service excellence.”

However, people taking flights to South Africa can also benefit from the top African-based airport in Cape Town, while Malta lead the European rankings.

The awards are complied following the results of more than 300,000 passenger surveys conducted in 2010.
