Dubai is planning to install advanced cameras at two of its international airports in an effort to enhance security.

Existing cameras at the Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport will be upgraded with facial recognition technology software, according to gulfnews.com.

There are currently 3,246 cameras installed at Dubai International Airport and 180 cameras at Al Maktoum International Airport.

The Dubai Airports security department has unanimously decided not to implement full-body scanners, citing a belief that they are a sensitive matter for many passengers and would constitute a breach of privacy.
