The UAE has achieved several milestones since its inception in 1971 with aviation being ranked as one of the top sectors for which the country is known across the globe.
Airport development has been at the heart of the UAE’s wider aviation policy during the last four decades, with a significant boost witnessed over the past 10 years, due to the inception of four new airlines.
The launch of Emirates in 1985 and later, the emergence of Etihad and Air Arabia in 2003, as well as budget carrier Flydubai in 2009 demonstrates the maturity of the Emirati nation. RAK Airways also re-launched its operations from 2010.
This year, for the first time in the country’s history, domestic flight operations was launched by private carrier Rotana Jet from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah and RAK Airways also initiated a new domestic flight service to Abu Dhabi. More info
